Over 200 attendees join Admind’s summer webinar on presentation excellence.
Despite being in the middle of summer, over 200 people attended our webinar “Slide by Slide: How to Engage Your Audience in Presentations”. This turnout underscores the importance of effective presentation skills for professional success in a wide range of fields.
At Admind, we understand that presentations are a critical component of branding and communication. They are often the first point of contact with clients, stakeholders, and employees, making it essential that they effectively convey the brand’s message and values. Our webinar aimed to equip attendees with the tools and techniques needed to create impactful and engaging presentations.
Our webinar featured two esteemed panellists:
- Maciej Kałuża: Lecturer in Business Ethics and Philosophy at the Cracow University of Economics, expert in presentation design, and an experienced academic editor.
- Maciej Furtak: Presentation Team Manager at Admind, with extensive experience in project management, client relations, and team coordination.
Top tips and tricks for the best presentations
- Visual communication: Combining images with text can increase information retention from 10% to 65%. Using visuals can increase understanding and engagement.
- Storytelling: A compelling narrative structure is essential to keep the audience engaged. The basic elements of storytelling are introduction, rising action, climax, falling action and resolution.
- Data visualisation: Presenting data visually rather than textually improves comprehension and retention. Avoiding common pitfalls includes overloading slides with information and using complex charts. Instead, focus on simplicity and clarity.
- Animations: While animation can enhance a presentation, it should be used judiciously. It is better to use animation to emphasise key points without distracting from the main message.
- Pictograms: The effective use of pictograms can significantly improve understanding and compliance with the information presented. They are particularly useful in making complex data more accessible.
- The 6×6 rule: To avoid overwhelming your audience, follow the 6×6 rule: no more than six points per slide, and each point should be no more than six words. This helps to maintain focus and clarity.
- Analyse your audience: Tailoring your presentation to the interests and needs of your audience is critical to engagement. Understanding their background and expectations will help you craft a more relevant and effective message.
